North
West Vietnam
The Northwest offers extraordinary landscapes in the country
and home to many ethnic minorities who have maintained a traditional
lifestyle. Among them, the Black Thai, White Thai, H'mong, Dao, Thai,
Tay, Muong, Mon, Mang, Phu La, Ha Nhi, Khmu...
The beauty of the road from from Mai Chau to Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien
Phu, followed a path along the cliffs to get to Sapa. One week is
necessary to perform the great bend of the Northwest.
Long rolling valleys with gentle slopes, sometimes distant peaks, horizontally green terraced rice
fields.
Fantastic mountains covered with lush tropical forests. Fields dug by
generations of hill tribe people, very small dikes that rise above the flooded fields;
thatched houses drilled in hills, the markets look
primitive with ethnic minorities whose identity is defended with pride ...a
very quick overview of the trip against time, where
each step is a discovery..
